Our Heritage: Brewing Tradition Since 1777
Founded in 1777 by Dorset farmer Charles Hall, Hall & Woodhouse has been brewing traditional ales for over two centuries, growing from a local operation to a beloved brand across the south of England. Starting with a small brewery in Blandford St. Mary, Hall & Woodhouse became known for its commitment to quality, producing ales with locally sourced hops, barley, and pure spring water filtered through Dorset’s chalk downs.
In the 19th century, the Woodhouse family joined the business, strengthening its reputation for excellence and introducing the now iconic Badger Beers. Today, Hall & Woodhouse remains a family-owned brewer and pub company with a rich legacy and a forward-looking vision.
